A 4.6-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Saturday (June 28), according to the United States Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered at a depth of 11.6 kilometers (about 7.2 miles). The USGS said it received 132 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.
"Good evening Owens Valley, CA! Did you feel the magnitude 4.8 quake about 6 miles southeast of Deep Springs at 7:37 pm? The #ShakeAlert system was activated," the USGS Shake Alert X account wrote Saturday night.
The California earthquake was reported hours after a 6.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in the Philippines on Friday (June 27), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 101.6 kilometers (about 63 miles).
The Philippines earthquake was reported two days after a 3.0-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Wednesday (June 25), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 109.9 kilometers (about 68 miles).
The Alaska earthquake was reported one day after a 5.7-magnitude earthquake was reported in Punta Cana on Tuesday (June 24), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 68 kilometers (about 42.6 miles).
The Punta Cana earthquake was reported hours after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake was reported in the Philippine Islands on Monday (June 23), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 5.0 kilometers (about 3.1 miles).
The Philippine Islands earthquake was reported hours after a 3.7-magnitude earthquake was reported in Nevada on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Silver Peak at a depth of 6.1 kilometers (about 3.8 miles).
